Bust A Move!

Hyrum is pretty darn close to be called a toddler in our house these days. He has been walking like a maniac. I know everybody says "watch out because they get into a lot more trouble". But my child gets into a lot of trouble to begin with. We're so proud of him!

(Now the next step is to get him to walk with shoes on... he absolutely hates it!)

Artists At Work

Last week Madison and I both agreed that it was time for Hyrum to get into the art of coloring. She agreed that she would teach him since she has a lot more creativity than I do!

Madison took her position as a teacher very seriously. And Hyrum paid a lot of attention to her and tried to understand what she was telling him to do.

Hyrum looks a little stumped! Actually, he was sneaking another taste of the delicious brown crayon.

Once Hyrum got the idea of coloring on paper he was one happy boy! He drew an excellent picture! I was very impressed!

Madison is a very happy that she was able to teach her little brother how to color. This is something that Madison takes very seriously these days. She is very very good at it too. I love my two little artists!!

We finally gave Hyrum a little haircut.

As long as he had something to play with he was just fine.

He was such a good sport!

Hyrum is one good lookin' kid!

So sweet...

Pampered Like A Princess

One day Madison had Cory cut her nails with the exception that she could get them painted. I told Cory that I would gladly paint her nails as I usually do so he didn't have to participate in the "girly" activities. But he really wanted to paint Madison's nails. Who knew this could be such a wonderful Daddy-Daughter bonding activity!

Cory was a pro at painting nails. He was very particular about not getting the polish on her skin.

He even took the time to blow her nails dry when they were done.

Madison was very proud of her manicure and pedicure by her Daddy. It was very sweet to sit back and watch this. (Not to mention Madison was sitting in her Princess chair the whole time being totally pampered!)

It's About Time!

It took me long enough to blog Madison and Hyrum's Birthday party. We celebrated their birthdays out in Utah. Hyrum turned 1 on July 17th and Madi turned 3 on the 30th. So we did a joint party while we were with my parents. I think the kids had a lot of fun.

Here we are about to blow out the candles. Too bad Cory wasn't there for the big event, we missed him!

Hyrum's favorite part of the party was the food. He licked his plate clean!

I know this is kind of a random picture. But its the only one I could find of their Elmo Pinata. That was a big hit, especially for Madison. But in the picture Aunt Caitlyn is playing with Hyrum and my mom is holding cousin Carter.

Madison scored big time with a lunch bag full of candy all to herself.

Hyrum's favorite part of his birthday party was being able to play with his cousin Carter. They got into a lot of mischeif.

Madison and Hyrum both scored big time for their birthdays from Grandma and Grandpa! It was such a fun birthday for them to be able to share with the whole family!

The Waco Zoo

While we were in Texas Cory and I took the kids to the Zoo. Kathryn and her son Tyson came with us. The kids had so much fun!

This is our attempt of getting a family picture while at the Zoo.

Madison and Tyson were so facinated with all the different fish. They were so cute together!

Hyrum loves animals. While we were at the Zoo he would point to each animal and call it a dog. And we would say,"No, that's a Zebra." or "No, that's bat." Dog is the first animal word he has learned. Its going to take him a while to learn all of the animals names. But for now every animal is a dog. Silly boy!

Madison loved going down this slide that had animals right next to it.

Howdy Ya'll

I know its been a while since we've gotten home from our trip to Texas. But I had to post these pictures, for journaling sake! There are some experiences we had that I just don't want to forget!

Cory and Hyrum spending time with the family. I LOVE this picture!!

Grandad was so sweet and got on the ground with Madison to color on the sidewalk. That is when Madison and Grandad hit it off!

Cory's brother, Cody, had this awesome Go-Cart. And of course Cory had to let Hyrum have the experience of riding on it at such a young age. Hyrum had a great time!

Madison had a blast in the lake with Cory. It was the biggest swimming pool this girl had ever seen!

Hyrum had to have the experience of swimming in the lake while we were in Texas. He wasn't a big fan of it. But don't you just love the sunglasses Cory is sporting?! He was in desperate need of some glasses and Madison was so kind to let him wear hers. Pink is a wonderful color on him, don't you think?!

We all had a good time visiting with Mammaw and Grandad.

Cory's sister, Casi, came to visit. Her dog just had puppies, so they came along too. Madison was in heaven petting the puppies... there were so many of them!

We Love Family

So, I got a little too ambitious wanting to post ALL of the pictures that were taken during our trip to Utah. I now realize that with my children and the number of photos I have, its not going to happen. So I will never be up to date. So, here are the last of the Utah trip pics for now.

Madi laying a big one on cousin Carter. We love that guy!!

We went to the Hoggle Zoo while we were there. Madison and Hyrum both LOVED every minute of it. They were also glad that we got to ride on the animals! Here I am with Hyrum, making sure he won't fall off.

Papa and Madison

Here I was showing Madison how to happily run through the sprinklers. She didn't follow behind me though. Hey, atleast I had fun! We had a great trip. It didn't last long enough. I love my family to death!!!

Memories That Last

While we were in Utah I just wanted to spend time with my family and make memories that I can hold on to.

Madison adores Boof! Who wouldn't?! Aunt Caitlyn is so good to Madi!

I'm so bummed that this picture is so small. But I guess it is cute, nonetheless. Grandma treated Madi to Build a Bear Workshop as part of her Birthday present. That was such a fun trip! Madison picked out a cute little shaggy dog and dressed her in a cinderella outfit. Her name is Cinderbella becuase that is how Madi pronounces Cinderella. So much fun!!

We had to make a traditional stop at Jamba Juice while we were in Utah. The kids LOVED that! While we were enjoying our treat Grandma taught Hyrum how to "raise the roof" with her. It was so great!

One of our favorite things to do with Grandma while we were there was to go to the grocery store. They had these cute little police car carts that the kids LOVED riding in. They would spend all day in the store if we had let them!

Madison loved hanging out with Aunt Caitlyn and her friends. One night she stayed outside with them and listened to music and she was dancing her little heart out.

We gave Hyrum a "mohawk do" one day. He is such a happy boy climbing up those stairs!!

Fun Times at Grandma & Papa's House

Sorry it has taken me so long to update all the fun photos and experiences we had on our vacation. We have been fighting a battle of the stomach flu around our home this week along with trying to get everyone back on schedule. We had such a fun time visiting Utah. It was so nice to have two whole weeks to visit. Although it felt more like three days. We were there a few days before more family came. We enjoyed just being able to spend every minute with the people we love and miss so much!

My sister, Caitlyn, just got home from China a few weeks before we came to visit. She brought a lot of fun things home for us. One of those things was a super cute umbrella for Madison. She LOVED it!

Hyrum has been experiencing with the idea of walking lately. And he loved cruising around the furniture at Grandma's house.

Aunt Caitlyn did a photo shoot with Madison and her umbrella. What a cute pose!

Madison was anxiously awaiting her 3rd Birthday while we were there. This is what she did when you asked her how old she was turning! (You gotta love her outfit too. Boof (Aunt Caitlyn) made this sweet shirt for her that she's wearing on top of her night gown!)

Hyrum was also very excited to find the stairs while visiting. We don't have any stairs at home (thank goodness!) so we couldn't keep him off of them while we were there. It was a constant battle. He was a quick one too!!

Pool Time

While we were visiting my parents in Utah they bought a kiddie pool. And the kids had a blast!

Madison lounging in the pool!

Hyrum loves water! Look at Hyrum's mischievous face!

Madi puts on a fake pouting face because she is sick of the camera!

Wrapped up snug as a bug in a rug!

We're Back...

I think this is the longest break I have ever taken from the blogging world. The kids and I have spend two wonderful weeks in Utah and then we met up with Cory for a fun week in Texas. I will have more updates on our trips with pictures as soon as I can tackle my laundry!

Summer Days...

Are best spent at the park!!

They always run to the swings first.

Madison is intently driving the alligator while Hyrum enjoys the ride on the back seat!
